10 things El Grande did in 2020

* 2020 reflective post alert *

It’s easy to get down about all the gigs (and road trips, and new friends, and shady hotels, and memories) we had to cancel in 2020, but we’re still pretty happy with what we were able to accomplish as a band in this “no gig era”.

In fact, we were even able to squeeze in a couple of shows before the world as we know it changed for good.

1. Jan 25, we rocked Bayside Bowl with Stop the Presses and Bad Combo.

2. March 7, El Grande made our debut at the brand new Big Babes Tavern in South Portland with the Tarantula Brothers.

3. May 1, Betsy and Chris performed for “Locked Down with PHOME” with Portland House of Music for our first livestream from home.

4. July 10, we took to Josh Graham’s farm for our first “Live From the Tent” livestream, which can be viewed below.

5. July 25, we were psyched to be back on the Portland House of Music stage, where we performed a Live from PHOME livestream. This can be viewed below.

6. August 12, we played the first ever Discover Downtown Westbrook Rudy Vallee summer concert series! A nice, socially distant outdoor event that *kind of* gave the people the live music they’ve been craving. Read about the event below.

7. September 11, we released our very first music video. Recorded ourselves and edited entirely by our talented trombonist / keyboardist, Chris Campbell. Watch it below!

8. October 2, we released a brand new t-shirt design. Get it below.

9. October 17, our final livestream of the year, “Live from the Tent: Part 2”. Watch the whole thing below.

10. Ok so *technically* we did this in 2021, but “Love Gone Reggae” (a reggae version of Love Gone Wrong) was released on Jan. 1. Listen below and happy 2021!
